POSITION SPECIFICS

Purpose of Position:
NW Natural offers an Information Services/Systems Analysis – Lead Developer opportunity, focusing on design, development and maintenance of ABAP data requests out of ECC 6.0, including maintenance and design of all BI Data Extractors for the BI/BW Landscape. Position will be responsible for analyzing requests to determine the SAP data source for new data/reporting requests that fit into the current and future SAP technology landscape. Position will also be responsible for maintenance and support of various SAP modules where ABAP programming is required.

Position Essential Functions:
Majority of duties performed, but not meant to be all-inclusive or to prevent other duties from being assigned.
1. Provides technical leadership for BI/BW data extractor programs from ECC 6.0.
2. Provides creative and technical solutions through the development of new ideas and application design approaches to meet customer needs with SAP.
3. Works with BI/BW team to evaluate the reporting/data needs for projects, and models production processes and work-flows in ECC 6.0 to supply necessary data elements needed for BI/BW.
4. Effectively communicate the overall BI/BW Data Extractor design to IS team members and customers.
5. Review requirements, design and code for Data Extractor application development projects.
6. Ability to define problems, select and organize information, present recommendations and identify alternative solutions to satisfy customer information needs.

Position Qualifications (In addition to required job description elements provided below):
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience.
• 5 years experience as an IT application developer.
• Experience designing and implementing in the following areas required :
 ABAP Data Extractors
 SAP ABAP Programs
• Experience designing and implementing in the following areas preferred:
 iSeries
 PCad
 BizTalk
• Ability to function in a highly cohesive team environment to complete department goals and act independently to accomplish personal responsibilities.
• Proven leadership abilities with evidence from other teams or projects.

General Purpose
Conducts analysis, creates system specifications, develops, tests and/or implements engineering, scientific and business applications, operating systems, security systems, and/or file/database servers. Utilizes existing or new technology in the automation of processes. Evaluates software packages and provides recommendations to management.

Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent combination of education and technical experience resulting in proven systems skills.

May require travel.

Under general guidance performs complex assignments lacking precedent and requiring creativity. Serves as an expert in the discipline, provides advice or functional direction, and/or assumes a lead role in the work group.

Discipline: Systems Analysis & Development
Activities related to analyzing and evaluating existing and proposed systems, developing and/or modifying procedures to solve business problems using automated systems, preparing detailed specifications from which programs may be written. Includes development and implementation of systems including testing and debugging of applications.

Annual Salary Range: $69,500-$100,800 (Grade 21) depending on qualifications
