POSITION STATUS: FULL-TIME (40 HOURS/WEEK) BENEFITS: Medical, dental, life insurance, and retirement plan POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supporting the use of the clinical information system tools used by the Benton Health Services (BHS), including the Epic Suite of practice management (PM) and electronic health record (EpicCare) applications. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION: The person in this position will obtain a thorough understanding of all aspects of Epic applications to provide “at the elbow” support to Benton County Health Services (BCHS) clinicians and support staff and other users as they learn to use the Epic applications. Serves as BCHS’s Epic help desk. This includes working collaboratively with BCHS staff and management in concert with established processes to “own” requests for additional system changes or enhancements. Maintains help desk tools such as SOS and Compass, provides user training as required. Field and document requests for assistance, troubleshoot, train and provide high level customer service to ensure timely solutions for BCHS staff’s computer related problems. Develop system-level charting tools; provide direct charting tools support to clinical teams by teaching how to create personal Smart Phrases and how to use all of the EpicCare Smart Tools; Maintain the Epic Provider Master File. Maintain the Epic Security Master File. Review application utilization and report progress / recommend remedial actions. This person will provide instruction to users that follow BCHS best clinical and administrative practices and promote and champion the use of electronic medical record during all interactions with internal and external stakeholders. This individual may create and maintain spreadsheets in order to provide management reports. Optimize use of clinical information systems applications by BCHS staff and other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A two-year degree in Computer Science, Health Information Management, Secretarial Science or Business equivalent with 4 years related experience OR a Four-year College/University degree in Computer Science, Health Information Management or Business equivalent with 2 years related experience OR six years equivalent work experience in data base management, report writing preferably using Microsoft Access and Excel as well as Crystal Reports in health-care or computer setting. Strong clinical background and training/education in healthcare is preferred. Experience with EpicCare Ambulatory Medical Record or anther similar system, training software to new users, or providing elbow EMR support with clinicians and other health care providers desired.
