Job Description
Are you an excellent communicator waiting for a unique opportunity to represent something you can believe in? The Northwest Credit Union Association has a rare opportunity in the Communications Department for a talented journalist and editor. Can your inner economist step out and make financial news interesting? Can you gather, report, edit and disseminate new information with a sense of urgency, and convey it in a compelling fashion? While meeting communications deadlines can you also help your colleagues effectively message our mission in their outreach such as letters, speeches, handouts and presentations? Become a part of our passionate, friendly Communications team and enjoy coming to work in the morning. The ideal candidate will have a balance of multimedia content creation and journalism experience, either on-line, on-air or in print. An ability to balance multiple tasks on deadline is critical. The candidate we hire will oversee our Anthem newsletter and blog, which covers breaking industry news and features, work closely with other communications team members to keep our social media sites active and compelling, help to keep our website fresh and updated, and assist our leadership team prepare presentations to industry groups and credit union members. This position requires you to possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, web posting and social media experience, attention to detail and a team work ethic. The ideal candidate will be intrepid, have a four-year degree in journalism, or other communications-related field or the equivalent work experiences. Experience covering banking or personal finance is a plus. Salary ranges from $40-$55K depending on experience.
