The LPN performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse in providing nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of psychiatric and personality disorders. | |||||||||
Skill Requirements | |||||||||
Education: Graduate from an accredited professional vocational school of nursing. Experience: Minimum one (1) year as a LPN/ in psychiatric nursing preferred, with six (6) months experience in the specialized area of Child and Adolescent Development also preferred but not required. Licensure: Licensed to practice vocational/practical nursing from the State Board of Nursing. Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and successful completion of Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA) including restraint and seclusion policies prior to assisting in restraining procedures. | |||||||||
