Job Description
Our client in Clackamas is in need of an experienced Press Brake Operator! This is a LONG TERM possibly Temp to hire position for the RIGHT candidate depending on performance.



Position Summary:

Under general supervision, operates and sets-up a variety of machine tool equipment to extremely close and complex tolerances including mills, lathes, computer numerically controlled machines and other hand and power equipment of similar complexity. Fabricates component parts where set-ups are non-routine and tolerances are difficult to acquire and maintain.

Essential Functions:

1. Operates and performs set-ups on a variety of machine tool equipment to extremely close and complex tolerances.
2. Reads and interprets blueprints, production diagrams and assembly drawings.
3. Checks height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments.
4. Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.
5. Makes complex measurements and advanced shop math calculations.
6. May inspect fabricated parts.
7. May be required to work on "first time" projects
8. May provide computer numerical control programming support.
9. May participate in process development activities.
10. May set-up and make "first-article" check on difficult production runs.
11. May participate in defining strategies to meet quality objectives and in system reviews within the team.
12. Participates in team meetings as required (safety, problem solving, etc.).
13. May rotate into other positions within the team as required to meet production requirements.
14. May participate in training of new team members.
15. May participate in Warn Industries' selection process.
16. Problem-solves individually or as part of a group as job duties require.
17. May be responsible to work overtime.

Required Education and/or Experience:

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Four to eight years experience in machining.

1. Must possess basic reading, writing, and computation skills.
2. Must possess good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
3. Must possess good mechanical aptitude demonstrated as success in previous machine operation or like activities.
4. Ability to solve complex mechanical or quality process problems.
5. Ability to continuously improve and learn new skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
7. Ability to work under general supervision.
8. Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
9. Ability to effectively problem-solve.
10. Good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence at the highest levels in the English language. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other team members. Conflict resolution skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and customer service skills.

Mathematical Skills:

Must have basic computation skills equivalent to education requirement. Higher skills may be required depending on actual job duties.

Physical and Visual Activities:

Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, balancing, stooping, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, acuity-far, acuity-near, depth perception and field of vision.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is continuously standing, repetitively grasping and repetitively using fine manipulation with the hands. The team member may be frequently required to walk, bend, squat, or twist as well as repetitively push or pull. The team member must lift 10-20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Environment/Atmospheric Conditions:

This position is performed in a shop environment. Team members in this position may be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals and vapors. The team member may occasionally be required to work in an office environment.

Machines, Tools Equipment, Software:

Bench-type or floor-mounted machines (e.g. drill presses, grinders, broaches, screw machines, manual and CNC mills and lathes, saws, shrink-wrap machines, etc.) hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and lift trucks.
